Research Interests
My research interests are currently focused on automotive information security and how to use an IP-based middleware to secure the car on-board electronic architecture. For these reasons, I investigate 2 domains: the first, information flow control in distributed systems and the second, dynamic data flow tracking.
Information flow control models provide efficient ways to constrain how data are propagating within a system. They can be applied to distributed systems like automotive on-board networks, in order to protect the car integrity and the driver's privacy.
Dynamic data flow tracking allows to taint and track data within a running application. The integration of third-party applications in cars could take advantage of such technologies. While ensuring security at the local level, they still have to be combined to distributed security mechanisms to secure the car.
